With saline implants, the empty implant shells are placed inside the chest and then filled with the saline solution to the desired capacity. Silicone implants are pre-filled with a thick silicone gel that mimics the feel of natural breast tissue. Gummy bear implants have enhanced cross-linking in their structure, which allows them to hold their shape in any position, hence their name “gummy bear.” Each implant type comes with advantages and disadvantages, which the surgeon will go over during your consultation.
