Ways Men Benefit from Plastic Surgery

While women still represent the majority of plastic surgery patients, more men are
pursuing cosmetic enhancement. This is according to the American Society of
Plastic Surgeons, which recently revealed that more than 1.3 million cosmetic
procedures were performed on men in 2018, a 29 percent increase since 2000.

Read on as Long Island plastic surgeon Dr. Lloyd Landsman discusses
some of the ways men benefit from plastic surgery.

Turning
Back the Clock

Women are not the only ones who want to look and feel youthful
and vibrant. Facial rejuvenation procedures are particularly popular among men
age 55 and older, many of whom are re-entering the dating scene or want to keep
up with their younger co-workers. Facelift and eyelid surgery have consistently
been among the most popular cosmetic procedures among men. An expertly
performed facelift can turn back the clock by 10 years, while eyelid surgery
rejuvenates tired or aged eyes for a more alert and energetic eye appearance.

Improving
the “Dad Bod”

Fatherhood makes it difficult for many men to exercise
regularly or eat healthily. Men bothered by a paunchy, rounded, not-so-sculpted
physique, known in pop culture as the “dad bod,” have several body contouring
procedures at their disposal. Liposuction removes unwanted pockets of fat that
do not respond to diet and exercise, while tummy tuck sculpts the midsection by
removing loose, excess skin on the abdomen. The two procedures are often
combined for more comprehensive results.

Looking
Younger with No Downtime

Many men want to look and feel younger without the downtime associated with surgery.
Cosmetic injectables like Botox and dermal fillers make this very possible as
they can be administered in less than an hour. Many of Dr. Landsman’s male
patients schedule their injectable treatment in a convenient lunchtime
appointment. Botox is a great for smoothing out certain wrinkles while
Juvederm, Restylane and other dermal fillers restore volume to flat or sunken
facial areas.

If you’re considering undergoing cosmetic enhancement,
schedule an appointment with one of Long Island’s most trusted plastic
surgeons. Dr. Landsman will gladly explain your treatment options, as well as
